Research Training at the Bijvoet School
The Bijvoet School
provides multidisciplinary education and research training, bringing
together aspects from chemistry, biology, pharmacy, and medicine.
Training opportunities for MSc and PhD students, and postdoctoral
fellows are offered locally as well as through international
networks, for instance, European-wide Research Training Networks and
Marie Curie Training Sites. The educational elements are organized by
staff members in collaboration with PhD students (AIO platform). The
following educational opportunities are an integral element of the
training of PhD students:

introduction to the different disciplines within the Bijvoet School
for new PhD students and postdoctoral fellows.
- Tutorial
Symposium: An annual two-day symposium with renowned invited
speakers and poster presentations by PhD students and postdoctoral
fellows.
- Bijvoet
seminars: Seminars with invited speakers, where PhD students get
a chance to meet top researchers.
- Discussion
evenings: A monthly evening seminar for PhD students and
postdoctoral fellows with presentations by the PhD students. The
seminar is concluded with a dinner.
- Advanced
courses: Thematic courses intended to teach a specific
technique or increase knowledge in a specific field.
- Courses
and conferences: PhD students are encouraged to participate in
(inter)national courses and conferences which address their specific
needs for further education.
- Summer
school: A two-day school with educational presentations by
teaching staff and PhD students, and workshops.
