Glycoscience Research Activities
Understanding
fundamental questions in structural and functional glycomics via a
multidisciplinary carbohydrate research program that combines:
- Primary / 3D structural analysis of polysaccharides, glycoproteins,
and glycoprotein glycans.
- Organic
/ enzymatic synthesis of oligosaccharide fragments of polysaccharides
and glycoprotein glycans.
- Carbohydrate-protein and carbohydrate-carbohydrate interactions at the molecular level.

The
various research themes in the carbohydrate program are directed to a
better understanding of carbohydrate-related biological phenomena, and
may generate leads to solve biomedical/pharmaceutical and
food-technological/rheological problems.
