  • For most identified spots both the expression kinetics (excerpts) and location on the gel are available (the gel of day3 is shown as the reference gel).
  • Spots that corresponded to proteins that were present on multiple locations were numbered by asterisks in order of abundance (e.g. ERp57 was present in four spots. Spot identities were therefore ERp57 *, Erp57 * *, etc. ERp57 * was the most highly expressed isoform etc.).
  • Spots that contained more than one protein were indicated with #. (e.g. spot 7207 contained both HSP90alpha and HSP90beta. Thus, we duplicated the spot 7207 entry with spot identities HSP90a# and HSP90b##).
  • For all spots SwissProt accession numbers are given, except for IgM and MHC II subunits (because of idiotypic variation). Some proteins were identified by similarity to homologs in other species by BLAST searches. As a consequence, some Swissprot IDs do not give the exact name as is indicted in our identity list.
  • If Swissprot gave multiple names to a single protein we have chosen to our best knowledge the consensus name in the field.
  • Spots were identified by various mass spectrometrical techniques as indicated in the last column. Details will be published elsewhere (Romijn et al. in preparation).
  • Spots that served to calculate changes in expression per functional category for van Anken et al. are indicated in bold. These spots are also depicted in figures per category elsewhere on the website.
